Elections
Well I read in this morning's paper that Kathy Fahey has gained the Working Families endorsement. This area shows strong vote totals for the working families line. From what I have heard elsewhere she has been showing up at all of the major events in the neighborhood and the other candidates have not. The newspaper also mentioned Brian Scavo so it appears the other candidates have no visibility.

Why I can't say I know him but he has been notorious as the leader of the conservative side of the city Republicans. I believe he has run on the right to life ticket in the past as well. I think he's the city republican chair isn't he? If there's a primary who is running against him?

There is a bit of a schism between the city Republicans and the county-driven Republicans, which is unfortunate.
Yes, Mr. Sullivan leans more conservative on some issues and he did run as an RTL in the 2002 Assembly race against the Republican WHILE he was the GOP city chair. He also ran for Mayor as a Republican in 2001, and he lost at a ratio of 7:1 against Mayor Jennings.
He calls himself the City Republican chair, but there is a bit of a dispute about that - the county committee voted to get rid of the City Committee and go with two vice chairs (disclosure: that is whom I reached out to for my effort). It all depends on whom the board of elections recognizes.
